Suspended in time,

Incest

Amnesia

Traumatic amnesia

Different sizes, different ages

Some very old representing several generations of trauma.

SKRIK means the scream in Norwegian, as an echo to Munch’s painting The Scream. »

As an echo to her performance SKRIK, 30 white dresses hanging high in the air. These dresses are disembodied chrysalises. There are rolls with writings on them, on the edge between healing bandages that define a safe space and parchments that hold liberating words. These fabric rolls are there to collect the words around incest, or what the installation evokes to those looking at it.

From these words, a poetic form will be created and read by Elisabeth Woronoff during the opening.

SKRIK sheds light on a major issue: incest.

SKRIK brings this issue into the public eye.

SKRIK is an act of resilience designed to encourage change.

INCEST is a real public health issue.

INCEST has yet to be tackled head on by politicians and the justice system.

INCEST is complex and so shocking that part of society is still in denial.
